Ross LLP client Bradley J. Fischer has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court for breach of contract against New Republic Pictures. Mr. Fischer is a noted Hollywood producer, whose credits include Zodiac, Shutter Island, Black Swan, Suspiria, The House with a Clock in its Walls, Ambulance, and many others. In 2019, Mr. Fischer joined New Republic Pictures as its President and Chief Content Officer. In 2022, the relationship took a turn when New Republic terminated Mr. Fischer.
According to the complaint, the issues that exist between Mr. Fischer and New Republic include compensation, and the division of proceeds from several high-grossing feature films. Mr. Fischer notes, “I have several contract issues with New Republic, which we have not been able to resolve to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, we will need a jury to weigh in. In my several decades in this business, I have never sued anyone, but sometimes, you’re left with no other choice.”
Mr. Fischer is represented by Ross LLP partners Peter W. Ross and Richard A. Schwartz.
